25 july 2013 - Vilnius, Zuikių gatvė - perhaps the most isolated location in Vilnius. Route #9 is the shortest and dumbest route in Vilnius - 8 trips each working day (4 in the morning, 4 in the afternoon), 4 stops, 10 min. journey. Opened with intention to stop people (mostly children going to school) from crossing railroad (see map - Voverių g. to the north direction) because they had to risk their lives by crossing rails above or to go through narrow pipe under rail. Lithuanian railroad company was given task to solve this problem and they did! They simply closed passage through pipe. Vilnius municipality was forced to make new bus route which is almost useless for residents of Zuikių g. but people living at the end of Juodšilių g. got use of it. Unfortunately, they were not the only ones who liked this route - several asocial people were riding in the bus very often for whole 4 afternoon trips, drinking alcohol, disturbing driver and passengers and even smoking! Fortunately, not all drivers were that scared to call police or to expel such "passengers". At the moment this route is pretty safe (as well as scenic) - it is run by private company and it`s drivers won`t let any passenger to mess with them.
